SENSORS FOR WATER INGRESS DETECTION

SENSORS will be used for detection of water levels. Pressure sensors are provided for cargo holds and
tanks. Level switches are provided for dry/void spaces.
The sensors have to be installed at aft bulkhead of cargo holds. One sensor/cargo hold is sufficient
when the sensor is installed centreline otherwise two sensors have to be installed one PS; one SB.
For dry spaces is one level switch installed at aft wall sufficient.
The pressure sensors of types HCG 2011; HCG 2031 and HCG 4010 are provided for installation in cargo holds and spaces for detection of water level in corresponding compartments.

THE Sensors are executed in protection class of IP68 in accordance with IEC 60529 as specified in SOLAS regulations. The sensors are type approved for operation in all cargo/water mixture.
The sensors were tested in following cargo/water mixture:
- Iron ore particles and water
- Grain particles and water
- Coal particles and water
- Aggregate (sand) particles and water
